A little Chalet “out of the ordinary.” May 15 Written By Deborah Patterson This is the earliest known Chalet inventory/catalogue page. See bottom row at very left for this style of the cigar bowl form - A37. You will note that not only is it hand drawn, there are no dimensions given for any pieces. In later Chalet catalogue pages, the forms were photographed and dimensions were noted. Please note that I misspoke in the video. The base on the amber cigar bowl is seen on Chalet’s “crystal swirl” vases and NOT on the crystal twist vases. It is also seen on the “tornado” vases, bowls and candleholders. However, it is not at all typical to see it on other styles and forms. Aas per the video, this amber cigar bowl with the unusual swirl base bears a hand engraved “Birks” signature. And as per the video, the olive cigar bowl with the typical early base bears a hand engraved “Russell’s” signature. Deborah Patterson
