Deck your Shelves

Many collectors love to create “themed” holiday displays. I did not this year but instead did a “glass collector’s remix” of “Deck the Halls” for this article and the season. i knew I could share photographs of amazing displays from other collectors and mine of years past so directed my efforts to words instead.

Pretend you are a sugar plum fairy or a toy soldier and enjoy the spectacle of fairy lights and other things Christmas.

Sending “best of the season” wishes from 50 Shades member Gionny Gueli.

Collectors not only “Deck Shelves” …

but use tables, furniture tops, display cabinets and more to help set the mood. Here is a small sampling of their creativity:

Display by 50 Shades member Richard Bautista.

Display of Canadian, French, Italian and Japanese trees from the collection of 50 Shades member Ella Hanks.

Display by 50 Shades member Cathy Antonyshyn.

I think casting Gionny Gueli as “Scrooge” would be a mistake.

Display by 50 Shades member Faye Draper.

By collector Kim Tremblay.

The Chalet tree in the background is 17” in height - the tallest that I know of to date. The small tree in the foreground is a rarer design.

Shhhhhhhhhhhh! 50 Shades member Jeremiah Shaver is resting after “decking” not only shelves but everything else as well.

Obviously Christmas trees and polar bears are made for each other and for seasonal displays.

Just ask 50 Shades member Jonathon Tremblay.

But don’t forget about those snowmen! Ella Hanks makes sure hers are showcased.

And pull out those vases! Jeremiah Shaver is always putting his to good use.

The dining room table is obviously perfect for “decking.”

As is your coffee table.

From the collection of 50 Shades member Mario Panizzon.

Don’t forget to have some fun.

Gionny Gueli shows us how.

Hmm. Maybe those “naughty or nice lists” should get updated!

Does Jeremiah Shaver have any idea what’s really going on in his Christmas tree forest display? I hope it’s not in his dining room!

Some collectors take videos as well as photographs. Where do they find the energy?

Share a “Night Before Christmas” with Ella Hanks.

And ”hats on” to Gionny Gueli!

All the best to you and yours! Stay toasty and safe.

Gionny Gueli, December 2024.
