The Chalet “Pincher” Centerpiece

I call this one “the pincher.”

Rare. We have found it in orange, olive and gold. And two even rarer - a cranberry and a blue/green 2 tone. To date, only seen with the etched ‘Chalet Canada’ signature. They are smaller pieces – about 5 ½ inches in height and with the diameter ranging from 7 to 8 inches. Are not super heavy. Always seen with this crystal swirl base.

I was fortunate to have come across one early in my collecting.

One of my favourites.

All the pieces in this display are signed chalet. Please note the one-of-a-kind pear bookends (rear middle) directly behind the ‘pincher.’ For more details on Chalet bookends, please refer to the article.

I would love to meet this fellow!

And I can’t say I would turn my nose up at an encounter with this guy either! Exceedingly rare, from the collection of 50 Shades member Darlene Spence.

The most similar to this Chalet piece from the other glasshouses is a centerpiece by Lorraine Glass Industries. It is quite a bit larger in both height and diameter with a totally different base and with overlapping ‘pinchers’ and is quite heavy so you should have no trouble identifying as Lorraine not Chalet if you come across as it is seen quite frequently The Lorraine ‘similar yet different
